Fresh and fragrance-free skincare from Norway
All our products are developed and produced in our small lab in Bergen. We make skincare in small batches according to the principle of "production on demand", so that the products reach our customers as fresh as possible.
We have chosen fresh skincare because it gives us greater freedom in our formulations. When products have a shorter shelf life, we can reduce the need for preservatives and other ingredients that primarily have a technical function – and instead prioritize ingredients and formulations with a clear purpose for the skin.
The result is thoughtful formulations with carefully selected ingredients, pleasant textures and a freshness that is difficult to achieve in products designed for very long shelf life. Our entire facial range is made without essential oils and perfume.

"In 2014, I launched RÅ Skincare with my oldest daughter, Amanda.
As a cosmetic formulator, product developer and manufacturer with over 22 years of experience, I have always been fascinated by ingredients, skin and formulations – especially for sensitive skin.
My interest arose when two of my daughters developed atopic eczema as infants, while I myself became very sensitive to perfume after many years in the cosmetics industry.

Amanda's skin journey with sensitive skin and eczema
“Ever since I was a baby, my skin has required extra care, as I developed atopic eczema. My personal skin journey has given me a natural interest in skin and skincare, and especially sensitive skin. Throughout my life, I have met many people who have struggled with skin problems such as rosacea, acne and eczema.
I know how much skin can affect both everyday life and self-confidence. That's why it's natural for me to work with skincare and help people with sensitive skin. As someone who has lived with atopic eczema my whole life, I know many of the challenges they face.
I have been part of the family business for almost 17 years. Through countless conversations with our customers, the skin tests we have conducted and the feedback from those who have tested our products, I have been able to help build up valuable experience about how different skin types react, and which products are best suited for whom. Although the products are also tested according to current standards, it is the close contact with our customers that has taught me the most and helped shape the development of RÅ.
The best thing about my job is being able to help our customers, and it feels especially good when people with skin problems like myself feel better. That makes my job feel very meaningful.”

Where is RÅ Skincare produced?
Yes. RÅ Skincare is developed and produced in Western Norway. Local production gives us good control over quality and makes it possible to develop skincare specifically adapted to sensitive skin and Nordic conditions.
Are the products vegan?
Yes, all our products are vegan and of course not tested on animals.
Does RÅ Skincare have SLS in its shampoos and soaps?
No, RÅ Skincare's shampoos and soaps do not contain SLS.
SLS, or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, is a powerful detergent that is often used to create a lot of lather. For some people it works well, but for people with sensitive, dry or irritated skin, SLS can be drying and contribute to the skin feeling tight, itchy or more vulnerable. Our soaps lather well, but they are gentle on the skin and great for a sensitive scalp.
We have therefore chosen milder detergent ingredients that gently cleanse the skin and hair, without stripping away too much of the skin's natural oils. This fits better with our philosophy of skincare for sensitive skin and a strong skin barrier.
Why do RÅ Skincare products need to be stored in the refrigerator?
We have taken a different approach than most skincare brands. Most skincare products are designed to withstand long-term storage, transportation, and extreme temperature fluctuations. This requires higher levels of preservatives and ingredients that stabilize the formulation over time.
At RÅ Skincare, we have chosen small-scale production and shorter shelf lives for our products. The result is formulas that are developed with special consideration for sensitive skin. The facial products should be stored in the refrigerator both before and after opening. This allows you to enjoy the purest skincare products on the market.
