Rosacea-Perioral Dermatitis

Rosacea and Perioral Dermatitis

Rosacea and Perioral Dermatitis are two inflammatory skin conditions that are often confused – both skin conditions cause redness, breakouts, and sensitive skin that easily reacts to skincare and external stressors.

Rosacea manifests as persistent redness, visible blood vessels and sometimes small inflamed bumps – typically on the cheeks, nose and chin. The condition is often worsened by heat, sun, stress, spicy food or alcohol.

Perioral dermatitis (PD) is an inflammatory rash that usually occurs around the mouth, nose, or eyes. The skin may feel tight, tingly, and have small red bumps. It is often triggered by over-grooming, using harsh products, or cortisone creams.
